Funeral benefit
Funeral benefit is means-tested and amounts to a maximum of NOK 19.344,-. The amount is reduced against income, as well as insurance payment or similar which is paid upon death. The benefit for surviving spouse and others is increased correspondingly.
In case of death of a person under the age of 18, benefit is paid out without means testing. The amount is only paid against documented expenses (invoice) and is limited to NOK 19.344,-.

Transport refund
When the total distance from the place of death to the place of the funeral service in the home town or the distance to the nearest funeral home is more than 20 km, national insurance covers that part of the transport costs that exceeds NOK 1,934. We can arrange the application for a refund to NAV (Norwegian Labour and Welfare Organisation).
