Please telephone our duty team to arrange the collection. We collect the deceased on a bier or in a coffin. In most cases we collect on a bier and transport the deceased to a suitable place for storage.
Viewing the deceased
If you want to, you can view the deceased at a later time. You can also see the deceased after the body has been prepared and placed in a coffin. This can be arranged with us.
In the old days, the tradition was to hold a wake for the deceased. This gave an opportunity for reflection and a farewell. Nowadays we also have a need for reflection, and viewing the deceased in the coffin is one way of meeting this need. Many people also feel that the day of the funeral is easier when they have already seen the deceased.
